Digital Body Analog Spirit
I have always been interested in the audio aspect of music. Even back in high school (circa '92) I "invented" a way to have multi-tracks by means of over dubbing. and that was exciting! I received official certification and I'm part of the Alumni of The Institute of Audio Research. Formal education open my mind to intuitive ideas I had about audio. From then on, I started working on unique ways of processing audio in both the digital and analog realm. The efforts have resulted in a culmination of methods of processing that I incorporate into my work.
Alot has changed in the past several years. My workflow has evolved with it, logically taking more advantage of the digital platform & nebulalized chains. It's all based around Sonar 8 64-bit & an end-to-end 64-bit system for total accuracy & fidelity. The primary D/A is centered around Cranesong Avocet as well as Lynx Aurora converters for secondary references and/or inputs, using Sennheiser HD650, Adam & Event monitoring & sub's. My aformentioned mixing chains are based around the SSL 4K console & the API 1608. Primary character EQ's are API 512, Neve 1073, Pultec EQP1A, SSL 4K to name a few.
The mastering chain is anchored by the Neumann SP75 console chain with mastering grade EQ's such as a W495STB, vintage Teldec, & API 5500.. There's the option of adding the sonics of Studer A800 MKIII tape (Ampex 499) as well.
Coupled with UAD-2, SSL Duende, IK & others with surgical precision ITB, there is a perfect balance of character and accuracy. There is of course Sonoris DDP for compiling masters. I've performed & compensated for acoustic calibration of my work space via diffusion and low frequency traps, created and custom assembled the wiring thru out using Mogami & Beldin cable with Neutrik connectors, and optimized all analog and digital gain structures.
I've been involved with creating music now for about 18+ years. My two major metal endeavors: Divine Rapture and Randall Flagg. Divine Rapture has a world release on Listenable Records. Randall Flagg released a full length now available thru The End Records Omega. I also compose classical pieces and soundscapes as well. Between all of that and essentially 12+ years of applied audio practice I've got a good hold on how to convey 'my sound.'
